# Is it?

or bigger

Rubbish - but then I've just had a run-in with liquid nitrogen and am in a huff

# That's very nice
in a purely artistic sense obviously
edit: and the helicopter is good too!
(, Tue 29 Apr 2003, 16:30, archived)
# I missed the helicopter first time!
*blush*

# Goodness....
There I am spending a good three minutes making a piccy and no-one even notices the copter/shark thing.

::weeps and stares at his liquid nitrogen sore hand thing::

# wooo liquid nitrogen...
we had a mad man in our college lab who would do a demo involving smashing a frozen banana off the bench. ahhh the joys of science!

# you can put your
hand in it

it won't hurt as long as you take it out quick enough.

I like to watch it dance

I guess the heat of your hand causes it to evaporate... until your hand starts cooling down?

someone telling me about this. it's summat like the evaporated layer of vapour acts as an insulator. for a bit. or something.

# I have a mental image of a layer of reciently evaporated gas protecting your skin for a bit
like a gas glove if you will!

there are.. liquid nitrogen is THE best way to make icecream, and just about the only way to make alcoholic icecream..

superconducting

and it depends on the material..

# Agh!
More semiconducting!

Make them stop......!

(, Tue 29 Apr 2003, 16:41, archived)
# super
superconducting

semiconducting is easy and will happen in Silicon up until about 600 Kelvin (813 C (I think))

superconducting requires liquid Helium temperatures and is much more difficult and has no resistance and josephson junction.

and run on sentences
(, Tue 29 Apr 2003, 16:44, archived)
# and then there's splendidconducting
which is like superconducting, but at room temperature and all this for the ridiculous monthly sum of £4.89

I'll stop

But I have to start studying for that exam pretty soon...
