# Being coerced by her parents into doing soft porn shoots for The Sun *aged 16, ffs*.
Getting raped by David Cassidy, getting physically assaulted by her father (who had been embezzling her money for years), getting hassled for being a closeted lesbian, having her long term partner dying of cancer, all the while being hated by conservatives and demeaned by liberals for being a bimbo...

Her celebrity is based on being sexualised by her parents and trafficked as a child (soft) porn star to a nation of paedophiles (UK 1983). So yeah, that poor girl.

# I fear we're overlooking her music career.
Often overlooked at music awards, sometimes by co-presenters.

# Her music is taken a lot more seriously in Europe
and she even had a little bit of success in the US, a lot more than several artists we take a lot more seriously over here.
The reason she's not taken seriously here is because of the stigma of being a bimbo, which, to reiterate, was a result of her being trafficked by her abusive parents to produce CSAM for a national newspaper.

# When I was a mid teen...
I found Strip Poker my uncles C64. I was soooooo nervous playing it but hey, all the adults were out in the yard getting drunk, and I had permission to use the computer! I did surprisingly well! I won! Kinda! Almost... When I won the final hand that would've had the vaguely woman-shaped pixel art finally remove the last piece of clothing, the game crashed!

I can cannot adequately express the level of disappointment that I felt in that moment. Nor, quite frankly, how that was a very poignant lesson that prepared me for adult life.
