# thats definitly the one
I couldn't remember where it was so had to open up the BBC News website...

I was kind of listening out, because I heard shouts of help then lots of sirens last night.
I looked out my window and couldn't see anything, I would have gone to help...but didn't want to get killed myself. (wasn't related to the ManCat one)

# Tsk tsk
What a world we live in when people hear shouts for help but dont do anything.

I'd do exactly the same though as Im a big scaredy cat
(, Sat 13 Sep 2003, 1:45, archived)
# yeah
I felt bad, and thought of doing something.
But it was def a guy shouting help, which meant it was 99.9% likely that he's already stronger than me and I'd have just ended up helping by shouting with him

also it was 3am and I was half asleep.

# You are so right...
...I saw an old lady being mugged yesterday.

I watched for a full ten minutes and not one person went to her rescue - what is the world coming to?

# I once threatened a group of skaters who were skating on the war memorial in bury
cos they were fucking up the wreaths, and they all ran away, only to get pissed as fuck three nights later, throw up and end up passing out on those very same wreaths.

# i walked out of my front door
in time to see 6 skinheads kicking the shit out of my mother-in-law. the noise she was making was enough to make my next door neighbour come rushing out. "aren't you going to help?" he asked me. "nah," i replied, "i think 6 ought to be enough."

# the best bit is,
my dad works getting kids apprenticeships, and the lad that murdered the other lad was on my dads books, hence him being there in the first place. He was due to have a meeting with the kid and his tutor about five minutes after it took place. The lad was coming across the car park, and got into a scuffle with someone, next thing, the other lad hits the ground bleeding from his chest. First lad throws the knife away and legs it. And me dad was supposed to fuckign go talk to the fucking nutter in five minutes time!

# Do they definitly know who it was then?
They arrested a 15yr old for it, but couldn't charge them because there wasn't enough evidence.
Thats what the news said anyway, not trying to argue with you or anything - I know it sounds like it abit.
(, Sat 13 Sep 2003, 1:49, archived)
# i dont know.
the lad that did it is 18, like I said, he's on my dads books. If they want to find him that badly, they should just ask my dad for his address........

This happened yesterday at about 4:00pm. dunno if its the same one you're thinking of.

# This is all I know...
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/3102614.stm

Apart from I'm SURE this morning it said a 15yr old had been released on lack of evidence.
(, Sat 13 Sep 2003, 1:57, archived)
# yeah thats the one,
they probably did release the 15 year old, cos it wasnt him. it says hes 17.
(, Sat 13 Sep 2003, 1:58, archived)
# LOL!
I'm even confusing myself now by commenting on something before I check up the latest facts.

Story as I know it....
17 yr old lad murdered on Thurs
15 yr old arrested on Thurs
15 yr old released Fri morning
17 yr old arrested Fri afternoon

HOWEVER when I posted before I didn't know of this afternoons arrest
