Excellent smoke.
Thick and choking. Though not very wispy. But if thick and choking is the effect you were after, this smoke excels.

you may want to fade the dark outline on the upper right a bit. You want to match where the sunlight is coming from. Otherwise ace.

the point about fading the shadow in the top right is true enough, since by the time the smoke had got that far up I'd expect it to have spread out a bit and got thinner.

The lighting on the smoke isn't quite right compared to the colours in the sky and water. this makes it look a bit too white, so it stands out from the background too much, making it appear closer than the object from which it is emanating. Add in a very slight blue overlay to the smoke, and then a small mount of pink, and blur the extreme right-hand edge a bit more - that should do it...
