Lo Folks - Need some emergeny advice. Can anyone think of an eye condtion that makes objects look further away than they obviously are????

I know some folks have bad depth perception
I hate crossing roads, cos I can't judge how long it'll take for a car to get to me. I have to have a few cars pass before I can go.
Usual answer though - go ask an expert!

I can only
see out of one eye at a time. I miss out on 3D apparently. But I gain being able to choose which eye I look out of without having to wink.
