# nope
none whatsoever

# physical sense is overrated.
'tis lovely.
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:32, archived)
# but could someone who took
graphics or tech drawing explain to me why it is so hideously wrong
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:35, archived)
# Now I look again
the closest side seems longer/the same length as the far side, should be a little longer?

But that's if we're following renaissance perspective rules. Doesn't apply to your woo pic on b3ta I don't reckon.

now do an orthographic projection of it

# dammit
got there first

Escher is da M.C.!!

edit: actually, isn't that actually correct perspective??
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:33, archived)
# at first
but the longer you look at it the more messed up it looks, with the shading of the box bit and how the middle leg looks a bit like it's attached to the far corner
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:36, archived)
# ahhh
middle leg/far corner, that would've been it!!

*is not insane after all*
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:37, archived)
# even then, all it requires is that that leg be diagonal
not that major a warping of your perception
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:39, archived)
# that's what i was thinking... it's just normal perspective
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:36, archived)
# Yes...
but your mind can also invert the cube the man is in (not in). The darker base can become the floor of a 3 sided 'room'.
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:37, archived)
# but as implied by the presence of the man
it's just normal perspective
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:40, archived)
# unless the little things coming down from the man
are his legs and he's sitting on the edge

# I thought so
Glad I'm not going mad
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:38, archived)
# oh, and...
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:35, archived)
# No...
I don't see anything there.
I just don't

w/y/h!
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:33, archived)
# yes it does...
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:35, archived)
# that messes with my sense of perspective
woo yay
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:37, archived)
# a planet-sized hot air balloon.
woo
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:40, archived)
# Does this help in any way?

Fun fact: Escher was born in the city I go to school, the whole place is riddled in all sorts of Escher artwork. A friend of mine lives in the "M.C.Escher street"

# ha
nice
(, Sun 17 Apr 2005, 0:50, archived)
# is that even possible?
I imagine that you could turn the corner and find yourself on the ceiling, thus increasing your chances of suicide.
