So i try to get it froma mirror. Doesn't work. Try another mirror. Just get a weird source directory.

# Setting up on Centos?
207.210.101.131/site/?q=node/2

Linky to Yum instructions for setting up Apache/PHP/MySQL.

Works in a similar fashion for Debian or Gentoo, just change the commands you send to your package manager.

# start with installing win32 apache as that's quite simple to install from the binary
and work from there

*edit* yes, the download apache is a little bit of a mess

pick a mirror, there's a list of crap, try httpd
then in there "binaries"
and in there "win32"

there's a choice of different versions, 1.3.35, 2.0.58, and 2.2.2

the higher the number the newer, I don't know what the major issues are for each version number, but some of the addon modules for apache only work with certain versions, that's why you've got a choice of three there.

the .msi files or the big .zip files are what you want.

# Theres a reason why no one runs webservers on Windows
However www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html might help you out. Apache, PHP and MySQL all in one easy to install package.

# Err
This is why God invented CMS and templates. Maintaining is easy. Setting up just requires some playing with CSSED and the template file. No stress required.

Drupal is rather nice, depending on what you need.
