This is driving me mad, when creating a flash file that uses embedded movie clips it cannot be saved as an animated gif...only a swf.

There must be a way to get it into a gif?
Any ideas?

I was hoping there'd be a way to flatten the file to a series of looped frames.
then it could be an animated gif.

playing the SWF file, and using a screen capture program to save the frames to an AVI...

Then convert that to a GIF.

It's a long way to do it, but it'll work...

You can save a Fla file as an animated gif, but the gif will only be animated if the Fla file is a simple series of frames, tweens can be used.

But the moment any actionscript or movie clips etc are used the gif will not be animated.

MyVideoConverter. It looks shit, but it isn't. That'll do swf to avi for a start.
