I was put off by his Ali G stuff that went on way too long. It was just about funny on that show Ian Lee did (that had Ricky Gervais as a comedy cheeky smug twat - well, the same character he still does today) but was boring before it got to its own show.

I found that went on waaaaaaaaaaaay too long, I used to use the Ali G stuff on the 11 o' clock show as 'remote channel flicking' time...

but Cohen as Mercury... No... Resemblence, slight enough to get Film Producers excited I guess, but he ISN'T the man for this...

p.s. Haven't seen Borat either, and to be honest, I'm not really fussed about doing so...

(not spoiling it for you here, but 2 of 3 antagonists in this one do as well... Although one of them was fucking obvious from the trailers and 7 minutes of footage released)

There is one 'decent' character that stands out, gets underused chronically and thankfully doesn't repent at the end...

I won't spoil it for you with an ending, but they need to bring that character back BIG time... somehow, although it may not be easy,
and let evil BE evil...
