Like the kid who brought Matchbox cars to the party of a friend turning fourteen.

I refer, of course to the wonderful drawed posts below this piece

# too often I'm afraid
far too often. I got into a huge fight in a Swansea after hours drinking den. I was calling them sheep-shagging, half-wit cunts at the time and there were only two of us. That hurt.

i'm on the other side of the severn and it's all we can do to keep them out.

i've taken to shooting them in the grounds of hereford catherdral on a sunday morning.

it's the law.

# Cthulu!
I want to buy a sink, a stainless steal one where, instead of sinking (haha!) into a counter, they have a square piece of stainless steel on the front that curves over the edge of the unit or around a piece of baton.

The old ones before built in kitchens became the norm.

The problem I have is that I cannot find a single picture of one, and I don't know what they are called - any ideas?

# Dunno, can't find one anywhere.
(, Thu 26 Jul 2007, 22:18, archived)
# You would be very hard pressed to find a new one.
They have not been around for years. All of them are insets now. You might ask you local council if they have any taken from refurbs as they were the standard council house fodder of the 60's. They are also hideous.

# But it means I don't have to have shitty units and can have freestanding furniture.
And I hate ceramic sinks - I have got a Belfast sink here, but I find that I end up just breaking cups.
(, Thu 26 Jul 2007, 22:24, archived)
# I'm with you on that. Belfast sinks
look nice in a farmhouse but are unhygienic and costly.
You can have a free standing base unit with a counter top sympathetic to your kitchen and put an inset into that. I'll design you one if you phot the kitchen. Then you can put an ultra clean and functional basin into that.

# you tell me what furniture style you had
mind and I'll see what I can come up with for a free standing unit to house an inset but sympathetic to your style. If I'm not busy I'll even make it.

# Less so.
more council house.

# i've seen them
you might want to look at more commercial stiles kitchens where it's all stainless.

having worked in all stainless kitechens ans seeing this type of thing this might be a good starting point.

with stainless always remember to get a good gauge of steel, cheaper sinks tent to have a lesser/thinner gauge of steel and in my opinion area false economy.

mind you saying that i have a ceramic sink.
