Embarrassingly I had no idea he was famous any more. I am a huge fan of his photography and I knew him from the 'Are you Dave Gorman' book / shows, but I had no knowledge of the radio stuff until very recently.

went to see David Lee Roth in about 1989 (?) on the Skyscraper tour. Inagine my annoyance when I found that Billy S wasn't in the tour lineup... yes, I saw S. Vai but it wasn't the same... listened to some Mr Big for years until Paul Gilbert left. Damn.

i wish i coulda seen DLR back then but i got to see him play with steve in 2005 and i met him too and it was AMAZING, absolutely the nicest guy you could hope to meet and one of the greatest bass players of all time!
