# It is finished!

Click the pic to see my first flash thing ever. There are some kinks I need to work out,
and work on the last two cores has been suspended until Lightwave is working again,
but this is as finished as it's going to get today.

# what is this genius i see before me?
did you draw all of that?

If so its fucking amazing.

# The artwork is from various sources
all from the Homeworld games. I'm working in Lightwave to create hi-res models of the ships, to make a fancy short film. Plus, I have a whole bunch of sketches and ideas that I have to get down somewhere. I'm working on getting my artwork this good.
:D

# nah - most of it artwork by Relic software's chief art person (Rob Cunningham)
it's great stuff though - I was totally hooked on Homeworld etc.

# dammit who are these people
with this much imaginiation and the skill to go with it? I have the imagination but very limited drawing skills... shame...

# I too loved homeworld
and remember buying it on release only to have a house full of mates for weeks as I was the only one with a PC good enough to run it full tilt. I still pull out H2 now and again for fun.

# It's still not as good as the first one
Incredible learning curve...but it looks fantastic! The original still looks pretty damned good too.

# I must admit though
that as soon sa I discovered X (beyond frontier ) X2 and now X3-Reunion homeworld seems a little pale.
(, Fri 18 Jan 2008, 0:10, archived)
# I have X2
but my CD is broked so I can't use it. I have to make do with Freelancer and the odd Eve Online 14 day trial.

# I fucking hate Freelancer
in that I actually liked it yet have not got the skill to get past the racing mission so gave up.

# That took me ages!
I've found you need to turn just before you get to the checkpoint, slide sideways, then boost through. You cut it verrrry close, and you make it. Trust me though, it only gets harder.

# Brilliant.
I have no idea what it is, but it is clearly well done.

# It's a guide to the history of the Homeworld games
which I only chose as a subject because I was dicking around with the models in Lightwave at the time.

and re-jigged for my own purposes. And organisational skills taught by my Interactive Media Production class.

I've found with Flash, once I've grasped what I need to do, I can usually figure it out from there.
