Can anyone tell me where I could find Helvetica for free?
Obviously I already own a copy myself, thus negating the copyright issues. Obviously.

They are very similar anyway, although I did not look.

it's not a TTF font. If I look in Word it has a little image of a typewriter by it.
Find out the extension and that one might work. The file itself isn't Arial, it's just what the font-viewer is defaulting to because it can't open the file by the looks.
(by the way, Helvetica is in my Word font list, but not Windows\Fonts on my PC if that helps)

If you already own it, you have it.

that I didn't own it and didn't want to pay for it. Where do you think I might find it then? In that crazy fictitious world.

So, you'll find it somewhere in your house/computerbox.
