# It made me think of my analogy of a gull regurgitating which is the same thing really.

N.B. I'm constantly having to come up with names of planets, people, music groups and obscure esoteric religions for my book. Does anyone want to shove their name in here(obviously depends on how plausble it would fit) so that if it ever gets published you can brag to your friends that the magenta planet named Cock-vortis is named after you. Then they can call you a liar and stop being your friend.
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:33, archived)
# First?
Fae.

You don't have to use it though, it's a bit wussy.
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:35, archived)
# Whichever, although it would probably be easier fitting a Captain Wow in regarding piracy, as Fae isn't a great alien name.
Plus it's a bit more individual thus giving more bragging rights.
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:36, archived)
# This is true.
Thank you, if you do.

# Jorvikskyre
Rheged, er... more ancient names for the counties of northern England...
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:39, archived)
# Are they actual names?
Because they'd fit alienish personages quite well.
*notes down*
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:41, archived)
# Yeah
Rheged might be spelt wrong...

Yorkshire dialect might be a good source.. Skeller Jannock used to be my planets name on some stupid online game...

(mean warpped justice)

Here you go.. knock your self out

# I should add I don't actually need any help making up the names,
I was just wondering if the people of b3ta wanted something of theirs slotted into the book for prosperity.

# Please call one of the characters 'Robinson Geronimo'

# Please tell me that is your actual name...
If not, any particular reason for the fondness?
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:45, archived)
# It was the name of one of the characters in my creative writing coursework thing
(which I wrote in two days during a rather heavy binging period) :D

What is your book about exactly?
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:48, archived)
# It's about a man coming to terms with what it means to be English as well as his own identity, ambitions and desires in a Futurist/Contemporary society. Which is then invaded by aliens.
That's not particularly accurate, but I always find that summary amusing.

It's basically a poorly written Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy clone, complete with Englishman doing a bad impression of David Niven and Arthur Dent combine.
Originally it was supposed to have swathing comments on the subject of existence, fate and ambition, but then I realised I was shit at writing and made it a comedy.
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:51, archived)
# Now I quite like the sound of that.
I'm a massive douglas adams fan. I trust you'll be keeping us updated on your progress?
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 0:55, archived)
# I sort of do-ish sometimes.
This is the second draft, ie the one which is completely rewriting it and actually making it funny (although it was still supposed to partly a comedy before but ended up being an embarrassingly awful adolescent rant).

Page 62/80 currently (that's word document pages I should add) and the final word count is slowly stretching away as the thing get incrementally longer.
(, Sat 17 May 2008, 1:01, archived)
# oh god
this is doing funny things to my brain. in a good way :D
