# have a character design and a QUESTION

ZOMG QUESTION
I have recenlty very kindly been given a Mac (quite old) when I turn it on I can't do anything, waggling the mouse around and clicking on stuff has yeilded no results.

Is there a Mac safemode/ way of unfucking your computer?

# my mac does this sometimes
I unplug and replug the keyboard and mouse and it works.

Although you've probably tried this, and I doubt it'd help

EDIT: Where are my manners, also? This picture is very good :D

# I can click the little button that says
Done

after it tells me it didn't shut down properly
I assumed the mouse was working

# Oh
Then I have no idea, sorry.

Although that strangely reminds me of the orange 'It is now safe to turn off your computer' text when you shut down a windows 95 machine. And the sense of amazement I felt when I got a computer that you clicked shut down and it turned it's own power off.

# I loved it
when i got a new computer at my old job, which I didn't have to manually turn off at the end of the night.

It meant I could leave about 30 seconds earlier. Woo!

# han solo?
hold down the shift key when starting up (from the moment you press the power button)
this prevents system extensions loading
then when it loads, see if that helps.
if it seems to work ok, open up the extensions control panel in trhe apple menu
and select only the useful system extensions and reboot - there are various options for this
