I think that the problem has arisen from the fact that you brought up the FAQ when absolutely nothing had been done wrong. I am not getting involved in who is right and who is wrong, but bringing up the faq for no reason can easily be interpreted as dickishness.

And please note, I have said "could be interpreted", and not necessarily is.

Saying: "I *trust* you've read the faq" suggests that there is no evidence to support that fact. In other words, that the image does not demonstrate that the faqs had been read and that therefore it has faults.
If "I *see* you've read the faq" had been written then it would've implied that the image conformed to requirements.
