# Bit of an experiment this:

I know I said I'd try and do a proper movie of Skug's cat this weekend, but have just got into the possibilities of stereograms, which is WAY more fun I'm afraid!

Stare at pics about 40cm away from screen, cross eyes, re-focus on the single image made by crossing the two centre images together, hey presto, 3D magic ensues!

Endless possibilities are afoot probably much better than this, but have this for now...

*edit* oops, only just noticed the one frame wobble fuck-up on the right hand tower, refresh and is corrected, soz...

# ^ This...
It has jamed my eyes as well you git..

Woo though
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:34, archived)
# and it works on these!
. . . . . . . . . .
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:35, archived)
# Those never work for me.
When I cross my eyes I see four images, not one.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:30, archived)
# Yeh, I figure about 50% of folks are now gonna curse me for being unable to get this,
but I the other half are gonna love it! Sorry!

*edit* You're crossing too far, meld the 2 inner most images on top of each other, lean your head from side to side till they match in height, then focus on the middle image.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:32, archived)
# I can do them if I save it and zoom out to about 12.5% or something ridiculous.
My eyes just don't cross enough to get the two large pictures to line up. But yet oddly I can still do Magic Eyes, despite the principle being exactly the same.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:34, archived)
# I can do Magic Eyes too.
I don't need to cross my eyes for them; I just put them in long-distance focus.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:35, archived)
# *waves his magic eye*

Norty! ;)

# I'll have to get closer to see that properly...
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:38, archived)
# Yes but you incorrectly think you're looking the wrong way down a very large telescope:P
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:40, archived)
# Well it's certainly some kind of scopic....
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:41, archived)
# Erm,
step back... ?
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 18:01, archived)
# Cross your eyes 'till the two become one in the middle & you can only see THREE.
That's how it works if this helps any.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:38, archived)
# But when I cross my eyes they go out of focus
because the focus is on the tip of my nose.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:40, archived)
# You're crossing them the wrong way.......just r-e-l-a-x them & double vision happens naturally.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:42, archived)
# That's not crossing the eyes, though.
That's distance-focusing.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:54, archived)
# So re-focus
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:43, archived)
# Then I'll no longer be cross-eyed.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 18:00, archived)
# Where your eyes are positioned and how they are focussing are entirely different things!
If you are looking at your finger 5 cm from your nose you are cross eyed AND in focus, this is no different.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 18:09, archived)
# I disagree. I think we have different definitions of cross-eyed.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 18:13, archived)
# That would explain it.
Cross eyed is when your eyes are crossed, ie, looking at something so close their eye line appears to cross over one another.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 20:21, archived)
# These never work for me
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:30, archived)
# Now my eyes are stuck . . .
and now I see everything in 3D . . . I kinda like it too !
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:30, archived)
# I could never do these.
Magic eyes, sometimes, but never these.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:30, archived)
# Can you seriously
cross your eyes enough to converge those images? I can't get anywhere near :-/
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:33, archived)
# Stare at the grey bar.
Works for me.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:34, archived)
# Yeh imagine teh grey bar is curtains, as you cross your eyes they part and reveal the 3D image
That's how I do it anyhoo...
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:41, archived)
# Possibly depends on your screen resolution and size.
And your eyes.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:36, archived)
# Stupid fully functioning eyes.
A POX ON YOU!
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:43, archived)
# Cor.
Good stuff.

# ITS A SCHOONER
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:34, archived)
# As lovely as they are,
I cant do them on computers :(
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:39, archived)
# Awesome
from about 12-15" away from the screeen, then slowly crossing my eyes it converges to three images with three levels of depth, if i concentrate on the middle one i get the depth...(four levels if you count the space ship).
Click!!!
this is both clever and ace!
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:40, archived)
# Instant migraine!!!
*mindspang*
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 17:58, archived)
# Ow.
I can do it, but that's a big eye-strain. Thinner images perhaps - and why the grey bar in the middle?

Also, the spaceship appears to be at slightly the wrong depth - it looks like it's behind the scenery.

Good effort though. Might have a go myself.
(, Sat 11 Oct 2008, 18:15, archived)
# The grey bar is 'cos it seemed to me to need a bit of distance to make the 3D happen
Looks right to me.

Go fer it!
