and traditionally support lower taxes and deregulation.

That said, the Republican party is controlled by a lot of Evangelical Christians who only reduce taxes on the upper 5% class of Americans, and would love to make it the federal government's sweeping right to deny abortion, gay rights and religious freedom rights across all the states.
