# Your move . . .

# Jesus Christ
What is this painting?????

I NEED IT
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:01, archived)
# I need it too
(and the painting)

No seriously, who is this by?
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:02, archived)
# I don't think it's him
but if you like this you might like the work of Chet Zar and Cam De Leon.

(also: look how shit my resolve is)
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:02, archived)
# *googles*
=:O

wow
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:04, archived)
# Yep.
We've got one of Cam's sculptures, and he sent loads of free stuff with it and signed the box for me.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:04, archived)
# Cam De Leon's website is a perfect example of style over content or functionality
I lost interest within the first 15 seconds of trying to work out where I should click.

The google images stuff is ace though. I prefer Chet Zar's stuff from the stuff I've already seen.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:08, archived)
# Really? I've had no problems with it.
He runs it himself, just so you know.

You ARE on Happy Pencil, right?
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:08, archived)
# Yeh - that's the one. Just looks a crazy mess to me O_O

# I am half way through
this video
www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/cza01.html

and I'm glad that there are others who love chet.

Also people should get a chance to look at the things Giger did that are not connected to Alien.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:05, archived)
# I'll check that out when I have a second.
Shiner's my favourite Giger piece, I think, but I'm too fickle to say for sure.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:08, archived)
# There's an early Giger work that has been used as a sleeve for the Carcass Heartwork album
that made me look into his other stuff.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:21, archived)
# Chet Zar is ace.
I had 3 of his paintings on my wall in previous abodes. Sadly, I have yet to work out how to hang paintings on angles walls, so I am pictureless at present.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:10, archived)
# Are we talking framed?
If you've got originals I may have to do something drastic.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:12, archived)
# pfft
not originals. I was a student. printies, in ikea frames.

I also had an enormous circular offspring poster, just in case you were starting to think that I'm way too cool for school.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:15, archived)
# I know you far too well for that sort of assumption *ducks*
Sticky back velcro, lots of it. Possibly.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:17, archived)
# hmm... possibly.
I fear my cats will throw the pictures at me though...
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:19, archived)
# Oh I know what you need
those little bracketty things like there are on the sides of big mirrors.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:21, archived)
# perhaps a good plan :)
cheers.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:30, archived)
# haha
you cack-handed monkey!
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:16, archived)
# Is there a way of doing it without risking waking up with glass shards through my face?
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:17, archived)
# I'd need a photo or drawing of
the walls and the back of the frames plus an understanding of the relationship in size.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:19, archived)
# hmm
I don't have any frames. I brought the pictures with me, as the frames were shit.

but they're approximately A4 and I would estimate that the walls are about 45 degrees, though I'll take you a picture once I've tidied up a bit. :)
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:25, archived)
# You live in a Dachgeschoss?
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:28, archived)
# kind of...
It's quite a nice wee building, it has a little white tower, with battlements, where we have grillpartys, and my flat is sort of stuck on the side of the tower, so in essence, yes, my room is dachgeschoss. I also live next door to Ernst Häckel (Deceased)

# ok
just a rough sketch of walls, in proportion will do. pictures of whatever the frame to be uses and tap on the walls to determine if they are drywall or brick.

I'm already thinking though of an 'L' shaped piece of timber top and bottom ( nice varnished finish )

affixed with screws and plugs but i'll explain that if you can get something in the diy shop like that or if you want me yo make some rebated pieces and send them to you.
(, Thu 23 Oct 2008, 17:39, archived)
# thanks a lot, that does sound like a very good possibility.
I'll do my best with a sketch. I'll send a photo too though, as I've always been shit at techie drawing.
