# To be honest,
if he posted this on /talk, the response would be even worse

Best bet is to ask in an existing thread

Can anyone help me out here? Tried downloading the newest drivers for my GFX card...

# And what is wrong with Windows?
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 8:51, archived)
# it costs money, it's does a poor job as an operating system, handling and allocating disc space, compatibility with other devices
it's made by an evil company who steals from and buys out better competition.

BLAH BLAH BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH BLAH!!
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 8:54, archived)
# Oh Noes!
Are you TheGoat?

Damn these companies who make computing accesible to everyone, at a reasonable price, and end up succesful!

How fucking dare they!
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 9:03, archived)
# you only say that because you're the Man
also fuck corporations.

though personally i've no gripe with microsoft. at least they're just business sharks and not murderers, thieves and all round sods like some of the others
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 9:06, archived)
# I have never had any problem with Microsoft
at all. The fact is that they were way ahead of the "competition" for so long, hence why they were so succesful. Buying a PC is so much cheaper than buying a Mac, and owning a mac is nigh on pointless for the majority of people.

Also, after watching that documentary about Bill Gates on the BBC, I had a lot more respect for him.

Yes, Microsoft have had some questionable practices over the years, but let's be honest, which big company hasn't?
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 9:10, archived)
# microsoft has never really done anything too bad. not really.
i like windows. i've grown up with it and it does what i want it to. Bill gates is also a really nice guy by the looks of it
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 9:12, archived)
# HAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!
They end up successful because the computing populous are spoon fed their shite and don't have the collective brain cells to work out there are better things available.

There is far better available for free. They charge for mediocrity. It is beyond me.

# Shut it linux Fanboy!
The functionality of Windows is far superior to anything else I have used, mainly due to the fact that I have grown up using Windows. When I was at college I started using Macs for my design work, and yes, it was fine. But I would still use Windows every day of the week.

I personally am a lot more interested in looking at kittens and porn on the internet then wasting my time learning to use some other OS.
(, Wed 19 Nov 2008, 9:15, archived)
# so you would rather toss yourself off to kitten porn than put a bit of time
and brain power to learning a better os?

why is this world so damned illogical and unjust?

# "it's does a poor job as an operating system"?
Not sure where to start with that one. Either way, this hate for hate's sake towards Microsoft is extremely tedious. Y'know, if Microsoft OSes 'do a poor job' then how come the massive majority of computers I've used have worked perfectly?

This brand war is childish.

The only problem with Windows is the CIA/FBI spyware built in (as the US government is microsoft's biggest customer.they can't refuse),which is found and exploited by other nasty people.

kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb404898

Here's the intro:

Photoshop CS4 leverages the graphics display card's GPU, instead of the computer's main processor (the CPU) to speed its screen redraw. For Photoshop to access the GPU, your display card must contain a GPU that supports OpenGL and has enough RAM to support Photoshop functions--at least 128 MB of RAM--and a display driver that supports OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0.

words...lol

# Ah cheers for this
Excuse me for being lazy/impatient and only giving it 2 seconds on Google, thought someone here might be able to tell me exactly what I have to do/download to get it to work.

I shall go check if my GFX cards meets all of PS4's demands :)

# It's your on fault
For being at the cutting edge of pixel pushing technology.
CS4? Thats been out for what 5 minutes?

Still getting me head around CS3

The fault will most likely be in your graphics card, get the latest drivers etc. Failing that go to the adobe forums.

if cs4 has a log, look in there. try re-enabling from the preferences menu also, and see if it craps out. again, find the log file, and see what it says.]
