# RICHARD DAWKINS
I'VE READ EMPIRICAL STUDIES ABOUT SCIENCE BUT I WON'T QUOTE ANY OF THEM, I'LL JUST TELL YOU MY OPINIONS INSTEAD WITH NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE, OK? THERE IS EVIDENCE THOUGH.
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 11:48, archived)
# Have you ever read The God Delusion?
Why aren't you an Oxford professor?! omg
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 11:55, archived)
# I have read it.
Do you know anything about me?
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 12:03, archived)
# Good, me too.
Just wondered why you SHOUTED your 'opinionz' as you put it.

Are you an Oxford Professor then?
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 12:13, archived)
# I wasn't shouting
I was writing in the style of Dawkin's book covers.

I'm not an oxford professor, but I am a scientist and academic, and I value opinion backed up by empirical data, rather than simply opinion. I know he refers to some studies that support his arguments, but he rarely cites them, just speaks in very general terms, which I don't think lends any credibility to his arguments, even though I agree with a lot of his opinions.
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 12:22, archived)
# Ok,
I am a strong supporter of his work and ideas and feel he backs them up very accuratley when asked. (he rarely gets the chance) I think he also has to speak in general terms, as many people have 'blind' faith that clouds thier own judgement.

We should agree to disagree i think.

Too thick for opinions, so he'll just tell you that yours are wrong, WHATEVER THEY ARE!
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 11:55, archived)
# too thick for opinions!?!
fucking hell
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 11:59, archived)
# valid opinions then.
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 12:06, archived)
# and how is yours a 'valid' opinion of him?
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 12:16, archived)
# It's not, it's a knee jerk reaction parodying his own method of summarising situations.
I guess that's why people like him, they cannot be arsed to think.
(, Fri 28 Nov 2008, 12:20, archived)
# I strongly disagree with you on this.
Lets leave it at that.
