I don`t have imageready... and there doesn`t seem to be anything else out there that works well.
(I used a freeware tool and the gif was uncompressed... over 1mb... :o )

doing it in gimp should be fairly simple
each frame a new layer and that
Would have to make the physical size smaller but its do-able

I already have the frames as bmp files at 35% resolution... might have to grab the gimp and see what it can do. (never even thought of it... doh!)

500px. Removed all redundant frames and pixels and reduced the colours to 100. It is still perfectly watchable. it ought to be. It's 5MB :/

'edit'

'edit the second'
most b3ta folk will know, but for those who don't, you can import quicktime vids to photoshop, optimise them there and get some decent results. : )

but haven't had the time/patience to learn it. How long have you been using it for? Clearly a good amount of time for results as good as this!

I don't think photoshop likes anything aside from .mov files.
I opened up bobmitch's video in after effects, exported it as a .mov then opened it up in photoshop (open video file as layers), and selected every 8th frame, lowered image size/colours etc

That's gonna save me a hell of a lot of time. Until now I've captured individual frames using FX frame capture.
