# Is this one of the CS versions of illustrator?
I was having problems with a corrupted font file, and as scanning fonts in the loading process is about one of the last things it does, then it kept getting right to the end and then crashing out. I had to re-install strip the fonts back to the basics and start again.

Or it might be a corrupted font. Get them all out of your fonts folder, and reinstall them in batches. That way, you'll know which batch to look in if you have hundreds of fonts.
