this is more a sad indictment of American vanity than the state of British teeth and it's because so much of British Dentists model themselves on the American private dentistry rather than allow for more money for NHS dentistry so that everybody could afford to have healthy teeth.

What could dentists do differently that would free up money for the NHS? They're already economising by making the waiting room magazines last 4 years.
