Basically
their teeth are no better, but because they judge us ordinary brits by the standards of their celebrities, rather than comparing us to their ordinary people.

absolutely we could all have "perfect" teeth if we had thousands to waste on comestic surgery
this is more a sad indictment of American vanity than the state of British teeth and it's because so much of British Dentists model themselves on the American private dentistry rather than allow for more money for NHS dentistry so that everybody could afford to have healthy teeth.
