Hurrah - b3ta comes to Lincoln for a change!

A potential 'Yes', as I may well have to go home to wish my Mum a Happy Birthday on that day!

This is more

important than "birthdays".

EDIT: bah! The rest of the family changed plans while I was away so I won't be able to make it now. Bastards.

Ooh

what you doing up here?

(, Thu 27 Oct 2005, 13:10, Reply)
I'm (originally) a Lincoln boy

so coming up to see my parents and younger brother in Branston. And to piss them all off by having a tan in December, of course.

It'd be fabulous to see you there! :)

If people want lifts or a place to crash, I'll see what I can do.
GFC, is there decent parking round that way, other than Monks Road? The bit near the Drill Hall, perhaps?

(, Mon 14 Nov 2005, 13:54, Reply)
The parking next to the drill hall is best for those not sleeping over...

By Monks Road I presume you mean the streets off Monks Road? There are a few streets near the Jolly Brewer with non-residential parking but anyone staying the night will need to move their car by around 8am the next day to avoid the risk of a parking ticket.

There are 4 good car parks near the Jolly Brewer. The multi-story just around the corner from the Jolly Brewer, the one next to the drill hall and 2 behind the building that houses the Touch restaurant/Spar shop.

I might be able to accommodate just the one in a spare room.

Ok, here is a simple parking map

Parking Map

The big yellow circle, that's a car park and at night the barriers are removed. But you might have to pay if you leave the car in overnight, and I wouldn't recommend parking there.

Hope that helps :p

Thanks sweety!

It's weird - lived near or in Lincoln all my life, and can
never remember where the car parks are, or how to get to them!
I think I'll plump for the Drill Hall. :)

Jolly Brewer

Do you have ANY taste?!

*Edit - last time I went in there they had some music at the back, everyone was either out of their heads on something or in the process of smoking something that would lead them to that state. Being 19, entirely sober and feeling totally out of place I never really felt it was a pleasant experience!
Anyway, had a nice friendly crowd. Just a bit worried about finding somewhere to sit/stand? It is a tad small and the back is out of the question due to the weather.

(, Sun 13 Nov 2005, 23:53, Reply)
There is a sheltered area out the back now.

They've done a major refurbishment, ther'll be plenty of room.

Everyone in there is sound generally, and they have guest ales on tap.

(, Tue 15 Nov 2005, 2:56, Reply)
Oh yeah

No problems with anyone in there, as friendly a crowd as you can get in Lincoln it seems.
Even better if it's been refurbished.

(, Tue 15 Nov 2005, 22:36, Reply)
bah, that's the day I come back to Lincoln

not for 6pm though, much later

(, Mon 21 Nov 2005, 8:46, Reply)
So?!!

Come later - would be great to see you! :)

(, Mon 21 Nov 2005, 18:47, Reply)
Yep. Like Caro said, just come later!

I don't mind giving out my mobile number to anyone who might be arriving later and worried we might've moved on or can't find us.

(, Mon 21 Nov 2005, 20:45, Reply)
Same here.

I'm dead excited now. Not long to go!

(, Tue 22 Nov 2005, 1:52, Reply)
If the weather gets any worse

I'll be coming in arctic survival gear!

(, Thu 24 Nov 2005, 21:53, Reply)

As it seems to be a small crowd it appears that my offer of a room won't be taken up.
If anyone may need a room then if you could let me know soon so I can get the bed ready that would be great.

How's it going grind? Excited? :)

(, Sat 3 Dec 2005, 1:26, Reply)
I will come

if a) anyone can offer me floor/sofaspace and a parking spot or b) if my work let me have a half day off and I get expensive trains there and back in the same night.

(, Sun 4 Dec 2005, 0:12, Reply)
As you know I have offered your floorspace.

I also have Curis and Yeknom staying with me. Hurrah for me!
And sorry to others, cos my Mini can only seat four. See you all there!
