Fadgebadger, have you tried 13 Guns or Founder's All Day Pale Ale? Both recommended if you like the hops.

They don't brew there silly super high strength beers to sell, they are purely to generate publicity and nothing else.
This "doesn't give a shit" open letter is the same thing, along with that recent open letter to the bar in China claiming to be Brewdog, even though it wasn't - taking legal action and closing it down was going to be either impossible or prohibitively expensive, so they turned into a publicity opportunity.

Plus, the Portman group is only advisory, they don't have any real power and is controlled by the breweries.

the main aims of the portman group are to maintain the idea that alcohol producers act responsibility in their marketing.
they are chiefly there to stop kids from being targeted with drinking advertising.
Brew dog makes an adult product, but they just love to make it look young, edgy, and slightly dangerous.
going hard at the portman group because they are pointing out the parts of your brand and product which appeal to younger audiences is fucking overkill.
also anybody who calls anything they have done PUNK deserves to be fucking shot.

"placing undue emphasis on the strength and intoxicating effect of the alcohol in the product"
Strength? 3.8%? Gnat's piss.

Representative of such breweries as Carlsberg, who absolutely do not market Special Brew.
