I'm strongly of the opinion that people who are easily offended should be deliberately offended a little and often - a bit like aversion therapy. Eventually they may get a sense of perspective. That's why we ought to burn a book or two (chosen randomly so as to not offend anyone) just to remind people that while books are nice, they are just fucking books. It's not like you're burning the whole print run out of existence or destroying the sum of human knowledge.
(but I do have some sympathy for the old dear as she was a recovering alcoholic)
