Meh, he Lucased-up PROPER Blade Runner, and let's not forget the utter bag of dicks that was Prometheus.
I'll spend my money on my OWN version of Blade Runner. It's gonna have blackjack*. And hookers*.

Are you referring to the final cut?
If so I'm glad he Lucased it as that's the only version that made any fucking sense.

I'm referring to EVERY fucking version other than the original.
The whole and SOLE fucking POINT of Blade Runner is this: Killing people has a dehumanising effect on you, even if those people are artificial.
Making Deckard a replicant does away with that premise entirely, thus making the film what many critics accused it of being in the first place: Style over substance.

Have you read the book?
It's dull, dull, dull. Same with Minority Report: the story in the film is much better than that in the books.
Ryan Gosling though? Certainly he's very pretty, but the last time I remember him having much in the way of on screen presence he was playing opposite Russell Crowe.

The Final Cut is better.
If you disagree, you haven't seen it.

I'm with you on this.
The full version on the Blu-ray is just amazing. I thought the cinema release was good as well though. At the time of its cinema release i seemed to be in a minority thinking it was already outstanding.
What a difference a little time makes! A lot of critics now regarding it as a modern day/future cult classic.
Those that slag off Prometheus fall into 3 categories-
1. Weren't paying attention at the cinema.
2. Weren't paying attention while watching the dvd/blu-ray.
3. Have not seen it.

the final cut was a mess. I had never seen blade runner before my GF bought the final cut version
its got a few scenes in the beginning that repeat the exact same dialogue; something about a ship coming in from jupiter, and maybe another line too. It just sucks and jars and is stupid. I saw the cinematic release recently and its much better
Final cut is a joke.

Few films are more deserving of not having a modern era sequel
Let alone a soft reboot with Jared Leto and Ryan Gosling. I bet Vangelis and Doug Trumbull aren't involved.
Pass.
