This is a normal post What I find most worrying is......................
From the time of conception to the time these things have been built and shown to the public is somewhere between 15 and 20 years.

Makes you wonder what they have under wraps in hangers out in the desert and what concepts they are designing at the moment.

so whats actually different from that and an f-22 then? i only watched 2/3 the video... the horrendous animation put me off. (its keyframe gone mad i tells ya!)

i thought the f-22 already did the tail changing bit... i know they tested it at least.

oh ye, the merkins are busy in their bunkers building a new dollah bill. DR JONES!!!!

This is a normal post the JSF is capable of vertical take off and landing
the F22 needs a conventional runway.
(, Mon 13 Oct 2008, 11:31, Reply)
This is a normal post Well, the F35B will still need a (short) runway
to take off with a sensible weapon load anyway.

The straight-up take off and landing is, apparently, only an air-show trick, being that they have a reduced fuel load and no weapons load.

This is a normal post yep
same with the harrier innit. hence the ski ramp carrier take-offs. short take-off is good enough for its job innit.

This is a normal post not really, no
the harrier is an old design reaching the end of its service life. The JSF is a massively more capable aircraft.
