Why are almost all british-made films awful?
(Mind, 'submarine' looks semi-alright).

Yeah that King's Speech...
What a turkey. That'll vanish into obscurity without a ripple I'm sure.
To be fair the UK film industry is pretty decent. Although what'll happen now that they've scrapped the Film Council so there's no budget for new talent to be developed is anyone's guess.

Hence me including the qualifier "almost". Dur.
I'm sorry, when it comes to british films, you do seem to have to pick through an awful lot of shit for that one kernel of sweetcorn.

I assume it's the same in any country.
The good stuff will get exported, and we don't get to see the real crap.
I've still got hopes for Attack The Block. It's a nice idea, just with a shit generic trailer. It's impossible to tell anything at all from that trailer.
