What a magnificent animal and the guy should have been proud to have had the opportunity to have his kid see that. It is part of life.
Hell, I remember my 80+ year old grandmother wringing chickens' necks and chopping off heads then gutting them. A few years ago, in her part of New Mexico, that was the most reasonable way of getting food.
