other than that the "real money" proponents are going to be crying come the new year.

Gold prices show a similar story, only less pronounced. Maybe the fact that central banks hold large reserves of it does something to stabilise the price. I think the dollar might be in trouble though.

now that whatshisname has devised a cunning plan for a European fiscal policy without requiring complete political union. Break the Dollar hegemony, Go Team Euro!

The US has spiralling debt that is going to be unmanageable in very short order. They can only pay it off by printing more money, which is never a good idea. Zimbabwe, anyone?
