Now I consider myself, much to Enzyme's, chagrin, as being on the libertarian right wing. I believe that for as long as the 2nd amendment is in force, it should be obeyed and respected. However, I do not support the amendment myself. I feel that it should be totally repealed as it has no practical relevance to the modern world. I support the right of the American states to make any laws against weapons(though not the US Federal Government.
If anyone starts the "2nd Amendment didn't cover private citizens just the millitary" balls, I'll expand

I know me, Monty, "Amberl" and "Racheswipe" supported the Tories.
All the political jokes on this site come at the expense of the Tories/Republicans/UKIP/neoLiberals though (or even worse, jokes claiming left of centre parties aren't nearly left wing enough- errant nonsense), and most here seem to be of the leftie persuasion.

But people buy into them and continue to allow them to rule over their lives. I used to be very interested in politics but learnt that it is more fun to be free.

It's never been empirically proven. Gun deaths are more prevalent the higher the legal ownership of guns, theres a strong correlation. I saw a graph yesterday, I'll try and find it somewhere.

I have no problem with members of the Police forces being armed. Armed Response units serve a useful and valid purpose. I see no compelling justification for arming regular officers though.

We don't like people being shot over here, we like tazers (well, except Pedantichrist if I remember correctly).

Criminals have guns anyway, it's the curious toddler, the jumpy texan and the mentally ill school shooter that you want to legislate guns further away from.
People say guns don't kill people, ok. What else do they do?
