EDIT: yes, *I* know they're called voxels, *you* know they're called voxels, but Sony and the extreme vast majority of the population don't know they're called voxels. And anyway, the original games in the movie were mostly 2D, so they used pixels. And I'll give the movie the benefit of the doubt on that. But only that.
