Cortextual - my new game for people who like games
I made this!
Hello! You may remember some of my flippant nonsense such as Tory, or Not Tory and Arsebishop.com. But today I am introducing a new game that – I'm sorry to say – is slightly less frivolous, and more family friendly.
It is called Cortextual, where you simply have to find the twin symbols in a test of reaction and observation. There's two game modes – a daily word game; and a free play mode with lots of levels featuring letters, numbers and emojis.
There's lots of fun for some of the family.

And I found it confusing at first. But it's fun and slick so well done! Also it leaves a bunch of stuff in your js that you might want to obscure, including all the npm package details!

It does require a half decent machine to play due to the heavy use of opacity and stuff. Have you tried switching it to low quality mode? I have a 2011 iMac where the game runs very well in Chrome, even in high quality mode.

Originally the game had a separate tutorial, but it was too convoluted so it was taken out. As you said, I think most people want to jump straight in. This afternoon I will work on adding a tip to the screen the first time you play.

Have you tried switching on low quality mode? (menu bottom left when on the title screen)
Can you tell me what browser and device you have?

Baffling
I have far lower spec machines here and they run it without a hitch. It almost sounds like hardware acceleration in Chrome is switched off? But I think you'd have noticed that with other sites as well if that was the case.
In any case the low quality mode should make it better at the expense of prettiness.

Runs very well on my PC
I just don't have a clue on what I am supposed to be doing - I tried the daily game and it just seemed to sit there and do nothing. (but thats probably down to me being stupid)
using chrome on an i9 desktop with RTX 4060 graphics and all the gubbins that goes with it.
