This is a normal post I expected to hate that, but I didn't.
Nice to see they kept the use of photographic elements and also it's not in half arsed 3D CGI.

[edit]
*gargling sound*
"Sorry chief, toad in me throat."

Did they just make a filthy Baron Greenback joke?

This is a normal post Yeah, but any smooth variable-line-width flat-shaded animations look like Flash, even though Macromedia's users didn't invent the style.
Although some of my brain does agree with you... Gah! Dunno. I think the stylistic 'shock' will wear off quick. And maybe Flash-style will soon be considered a retro look? I never liked it much personally. I don't think this looks like the worst offender though. It's the fake line-width variations that always get to me, and this looks like it doesn't do that too much. If you're going to have a VLW, make it pressure-controlled by a human and not post-calculated by Mr. Beizer.

Those Pilkington animations looked horrible to me at first, but I got used to it fairly quick and forgot about concentrating on the style. I really don't know, but I don't think I'm going to mind this. I do appreciate your point.

edit: I don't think cartoons having unrealistic extending arms is really an issue. It's an unrealistic mouse. I saw Tom the cat shatter like glass once. Danger Mouse's arm can extend to 10 feet long for all I care. On a very temporary basis, you understand.

This is a normal post It's a shame David Jason isn't doing it but they've got to worry he'll be popping off or yewtreed within the life of the show.

This is a normal post No worries
Really happy with the cast. Eldon as Penfold has made it for me, that is an inspired choice I think. Armstrong I'm sure will do a good job, he's got a rich but flexible voice. I think I once heard he sings choral baritone to a high level.

And yeah that *did* totally sound like Rowan Atkinson in this clip. Didn't spot that until you pointed it out.

I hope it's as surreal as the original.

This is a normal post Gotta say it's got a pretty stellar cast they've assemled
Alexander Armstrong, but also Kevin Eldon, Stephen Fry, John Oliver... And written by the Horrible Histories writer. I'm def gonna be watching this and I'm not a really comic/cartoon kinda grown-up normally.
