So it has finally dawned on the septics that there is a very high level of homogeneity in the various local news channels across their country. They are upset about it.
Yet they don't seem to mind that a Big Mac is an almost identical product wherever in the US you buy it. It's exactly the same with TV. Now they are wallowing in nostalgia for quality local TV news coverage and journalism, despite the fact it never existed. In fairness, Sinclair Broadcasting is pushing a right leaning agenda ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNhUk5v3ohE ), but I'm more than a little tired of people being angry that things that come at no pecuniary cost, don't come at a price in other ways (cf Facebook).

We need to invest in journalism. We need to go back to paying for journalism. I

It's finally dawned on you
What critics have been well aware of for years. It's why we stopped watching and only one reason why we cut cable. News readers are too ignorant, too straight up partisan to inform us of anything useful. They get shut off immediately just as this video. They leave more out than they include and they distract with the wrong things. And we don't complain about McDonalds because we don't eat there. We're not members of Facebook and we don't use Twitter and we avoid Google like a plague. I do get just a little bit tired of facile generalizations. Especially the ones made with a British accent.

Prufrock only made one generalisation about Americans,
and he made it in such a way that it was obviously intentional for rhetorical effect.
You, however, appear to have made a number of statements with the pronouns "we" and "us", without having specified any new nouns. While my guess is that you probably meant yourself and your spouse/family, without having introduced those concepts the sentences you wrote appear to be massive generalisations about all Americans, and rather facile ones at that.
