Can't he be tortured for the duration of the film?
And afterwards too?

Ah wow. Ace post.
Quite dark for a kids film I always thought. As a kid I remember being truly shocked after the death trawl on the opening scenes.

I had never cried at a film before, ever.
until I saw Optimus Prime die. I wasn't the same little boy for weeks and needed to be told that it wasn't real and if it was, he wasn't really dead. (I guess my mum had access to the scripts of the third series of the cartoon because she was righton both accounts.)

Yeah I remember sitting with my toys thinking 'they're... all... dead...' :-(
Amazing to think it all boiled down to just reintroducing new toys, I doubt they had any idea it would have such a devastating effect!

I can't think of another TV show/ cartoon where pretty much 90% of the established popular characters
get wiped out in under 20 minutes...

Although The Animals of Farthing Wood
did a good job of stretching the grief over an entire show.

Quite possibly the best thing that has cropped up on here ever.
No more crying and wanking for me, that's my evening sorted.

I favourited this vid after watching 3 minutes
After realizing I've never seen it.. ever.
I will instead watch it under part control from a substance when the time is right.

I loved this as a kid
My dad brought me a vhs copy back when he was working off shore. I remember seeing something flash up on screen for a split second in the middle of the movie. I must have sat for about 2 hours pressing pause, rewind, pause, rewind...............
Then I finally managed it. I paused it just right so that the single frame I was looking for stayed on screen.
Bit of an anti climax. It was what looked like a scrap of paper with a 4 digit code written on it. Must have been an editing thing.
