This is a link post Unintentionally funny non-foreigners I made this!
Hello /links.
I need your help.
I'm trying to compile a list of reverse-funny-names-corner - English words, names or products which are hilarious to speakers of certain other languages.
I only know Czech and Mandarin so can only list 'peachy' ('cunt' in Czech), 'shabby' ('stupid cunt' in Mandarin) and 'newbie' ('cow's cunt' in Mandarin).
Please share any more you know. I may write a song with them if I get enough.

German, Fahren, to travel, giving fart, journey

...and it's still the opposite of what he's after :)

This is a normal post I thought 'reise' meant journey in German, as well as the scandinavian languages
google translate agrees...

This is a normal post Pikk
means cock in Norwegian, so saying "I'm off to pick up the kids" can lead to amusement...

edit: come to think of it, so does kukk (pronounced cook) so saying "I'll just cook this chicken, then I'll pick up the kids" could be doubly amusing... (though kukk and pikk are both nouns)

This is a normal post Hoy in Thai
Chris Hoy = Chris Muff
This also means that the Vietnamese City Hoi An sounds like 'Saggy Clunge' to dirty minded Thai speakers.

Also in Thai: 'Jew' = Cock and Kapow! = Basil (wrong way round I know).

This is a normal post 'Jew' is Chinese for 'pig'
Terrible accidental racism.

This is a normal post the expression 'top shelf'
apparently sounds like something so rude in Thai that my friend would not explain it to me.

I don't have any native speakers of Thai nearby so I can't follow this up right now. Good luck!

This is a normal post I have one nearby, but she's can't think off anything
The best one is "Top Tong", which is a really, really bad thing to say to anyone Thai, even as a joke. I think it insinuates sluttiness in a girl and insults her mother simultaneously.

This is a normal post apparently Heston means something in a nother language
Japanese I think. Greek - askville.amazon.com/SimilarQuestions.do?req=Charlton+Heston+explain+scatological+connotations+Greek+means

i.e. Chartlon Heston. Heston Blumenthal, Heston Services

I remember Blumenthal mentioning it on Jonathan Ross, but I can't remember the language or what it meant and google draws a blank
