This is a normal post Or countries. Our southern border is pretty loose. But then again, the government itself is involved in gun running so what's a sould to do

This is a normal post odd, because
according to Wikipedia,
Gun politics in Mexico have resulted in some of the strictest gun laws in the world. It is in many ways similar to the United Kingdom, except with much more severe prison terms for even the smallest gun law violations. On the other hand, possession of non-military-caliber small arms by citizens is largely a non-issue.

This is a normal post Yet, people are shot up all the time. Worse, their bodies are decapitated and the heads thrown in Catholic churches and the bodies hung from overpasses.

This is a normal post It appears that the highest portions of our government are involved.
The administration first claimed to have no knowledge of gun running to Mexico, then claimed executive privilege over the documents, which can only be had for documents created by the administration. It is terrible.

This is a normal post I think in some way it was to show how bad guns are by creating a situation in which people would be killed and the public would be reactionary.
When the guns can be tracked to the murder scene of a federal agent and border patrol officer it then goes really bad. That and those guns can be tracked to the deaths of several Mexicans, thereby prompting the lawsuits you referenced.

It is the perfect good cop/bad cop routine. But in this case, it went really wrong and they are trying really hard to cover their asses.

This is a normal post some thing is seriously wrong with justice
if breivik only gets 21 years for teh murder off 71 people and the man who murderd john lennon gets life and has just been denied parole again
30 years for one murder but 21 for 71 how do they justify the discrepancy?

This is a normal post John Lennon wasn't killed in Norway

(, Fri 24 Aug 2012, 22:33, Reply)
This is a normal post Different countries, different ideas of what prison is for.
Norway (unlike America) believes that the purpose of prison is rehabilitation, not punishment and has ended up with a maximum sentence of 21 years. This can be extended so it's unlikely that he'll ever be set free.

This is a normal post in the US they count all the deaths as separate crimes
and add all the sentences up to get ridiculous prison terms of hundreds of years
(, Fri 24 Aug 2012, 22:36, Reply)
This is a normal post He didn't just get 21 years.
That was the maximum sentence that could be imposed in one hit (for life sentence). It is reviewed and can be extended. Basically, he won't be getting out.

This is a normal post it is tragic.
most of those injured were not from the gunman, he had one intended target, his former coworker, whom was fatally shot.
everyone else was caught in the crossfire of the gunfire exchanged with police.
according to the news report i just heard)
