OK, for those who don't understand logic.Popular means liked by most people.
People generally like others because they're likeable, nice, pleasant, etc.
Given the above the more popular a person is the less likely it should be that somebody would wish them ill.
It also makes it unlikely that they wold be the type to do anything warranting revenge.
