I don't understand the attraction
Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

The sheer rabid hatred of anything with an Apple on it
It's a fucking computer. So fucking what? Are Windows/Linux people so insecure that they feel the need to rubbish it for being different?
I don't give a flying rat's tossbag™ (Thanks, Blighty) what sort of computer anyone uses if it gets the job done for them.
Fucking grow up.

it's more the hatred of the smug patronising tossers who feel the need
to endlessly evangelise about them and sneer at me for being so backward as to prefer Windows and a non-drm hobbled Sony mp3 player. (which as an aside, doesnt seem to care *where* I got my mp3's from, how many pc's I have them installed on, and despite having it for a year and a half or so now, has so far refrained from managing to delete my entire mp3 collection off my hard drive. thank you Sony.)
oh, and my current Windows machine cost me £800 - the equivalent Apple would be over three thousand pounds. £80 for a second dvd writer as an optional upgrade? of course!
apple - the emperor's new clothes of IT, for idiots with far more money than sense.

£80 for a DVD-RW?!?
I could buy one off dabs, pay someone to get it fitted and still have enough change for a cheap blowjob...

have a look at the prices on the Apple store webpage
of course, you do know if you do install your own dvd burner you've voided your warranty dont you?
nibbling gently on the hand that feeds you is one thing - hacking big hunks out of it and then laughing in your face is another, I feel.

This document states: "Adding memory (DRAM, VRAM) or other user-installable upgrade or expansion products to an Apple computer is not considered a modification to that Apple product. Therefore, it is not necessary to obtain Apple's written permission to upgrade or expand an Apple computer."
Nice try, but poor troll.

DRM free Sony products, that sounds pretty miraculous, is it a gram-o-phone? And my current Apple cost £200, you seem pretty angry for someone who presumably wasn't forced to buy one at gunpoint. Mind you, I was pretty irate until I got a home machine that didn't throw a random fit every few hours and just worked.

To be fair, there are a lot more Mac users who
