Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

Fish
People who say "I hate fish, but I do like (tinned) tuna"
What?
Tinned tuna is the smelliest, oiliest, fishiest fish there is.
On the scale of 1 to fish, it's FISH.
Have these people ever tried bass, gurnard or bream? Even mackerel (a very common fish) cooked properly is delicious.
Heck, any fish cooked properly is fantastic, but tinned tuna? Please!

I quite like tinned tuna
but then I also like pretty much all other types of fish
tinned tuna has to be the one that comes in brine though, otherwise it mings.

Fish
My own Dad is one of these people. He hates the smell of fish but thinks nothing of stinking the house out with the smell of fried kippers! Also he can't stand pilchards but loves grilled sardines, I believe I am correct in saying that they are the same fucking animal.
That is all.

A friend of mine
depises all fish. But she loves fish and chips. I would jeer at her for this stupidity but I fancy her too much.

I'd love to go to a fish n chip place and order fish
WITHOUT THE FUCKING BATTER!
Sadly, this seems to be impossible.
Batter totally ruins the taste of what otherwise could have been a nice bit of cod.
It's a waste, they might as well use a bland fish like pollack or coalfish or even conger.

Not against tuna
But do certainly agree with you that you can't beat a nice piece of bream and other such lovely fishickles.
My personal fave? Mackerel Sashimi. I could eat this stuff til the cows (or fish) come home!!!

I don't much care for fish
it smells.
Also, I first heard the word gurnard only the other day, that makes you a snob.

Not really, it makes you ignorant to the wildlife of this fair isle and the surrounding waters.
I've lived in a rural area near the coast all my life,
been fishing most of my life,
have plenty of bushcraft skills and
a wide knowledge of flora and fauna.
Fool.
