This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

Ah...
The joy of cowardly trolls who send nasty private messages.

The best way to deal with them?

Post the message on Off Topic - let everyone see who they are and what they're saying.

As far as I'm concerned if someone has a problem with something I've said by all means send me a private message to point out where they differ, politely. Sending a PM just to be nasty - that's cowardly.

Simple
Ignore private messages and get a life

"Get a life"
I see that phrase bandied around a lot. What does it mean? What sort of "life" does a person have to lead in order for them be be deemed, to you, to have a life?

And possibly, and maybe more pertinantly, why the fuck should we get a life that is deemed acceptable to you? Everyone is different, and if we all lead the same life as your illustrious self, it would probably be pretty damn boring.

Screw you buddy
You could have ignored my point - which I felt was valid - and got on with your own life.
