Have you ever been photographed sat on a balcony eating a croissant; or wallowed in luxury just for the sake of it? What's the most ostentatious thing you ever seen or done?

I'm going to the Edinburgh Festival.
Nothing on god's earth is as expensive as the fucking Edinburgh Festival*
*OK, this is clearly not true, it just feels it when you realise you are paying the best part of £500 to stay in a shitty Premier Inn for three nights.

One year I intend to rent a flat there for the whole month.
But not this year.

i ususally take a week off with my mates and we do the whole fesitval thing which is great but it's a pain in the arse when you work for Edinburgh Uni and the entire campus is rammed with people. meaning a 5 min walk at any other time becomes a 20min stress fest

The only way to find out if they're nay good or not is obviously to go to them, but if you have friends, booze and a good bitch about them afterwards, there's no way even the worst offenders can be a waste of time.

I've been ploughing through the programme for two weeks trying to make judgements on what to see.

Or at least friendly booze?

I'm more concerned by the implication there is another scarpe out there...

must've missed that bit. don't think the missus would be too happy, we only have a 1 bedroom flat.
On the subject of free shows though, Kunt and the Gang is playing at the Hive most nights www.edfringe.com/whats-on/comedy/kuent-and-the-gang-free

Though I can't think where they'll put them. The place is just a series of caves.

You could just stay in someone's house. I stayed with a nice couple last year for 10 days for £120 from an ad on gumtree.com.
This isn't funny in any way but just thought I'd say.

But I won't get to see any shows as I will only be there for a couple of days, both of which are full of unpleasant uni stuff.
