We wanted a monkey butler and bought one off eBay. Imagine our surprise when we found it was just an ordinary monkey with rabies. Worse: It had no butler training at all. Tell us about your duff technology purchases.
Thanks to Moonbadger for the suggestion

Fool.
Without the Archers, R4 has no soul.
I was slowly converting my old office away from shitty local radio, through use of the Afternoon Play. Simply put, everything on R4 is listenable, with the following exceptions:
- Open Country
- Ramblings
- Something Understood
- Count Arthur Strong
- Saturday Live (until Fi Glover left)
- PM (when Eddie Mair is presenting)
The sound of Sailing By is one of utter joy, and a reason to be proud of our country (I'd make it the national anthem, just so it could be played at sports events, thus chilling everyone out).

I suppose I would like to hear Sailing By sung from the terraces
and to be honest, I've tended to switch off all the plays and haven't really given them a chance. But if they weren't so damn good at journalism and commentary, I wouldn't resent them scheduling everything else.

Oh Eddie Mair is great.
But You and Yours must be destroyed, as must Quote Unquote - and that "medieval" sitcom they're running on Wednesday evenings at the moment, which is about as funny as mesothelioma.
