I'm 50-50 on this kind of story.
He may have been a pervert intent on harm, or he may have been a nice chap who was lonely and wanted a kid so saw it as a chance to do something fun.
After all, not all scout leaders or male teachers are perverts.
Though, I'd say you were right to make your excuses and leave -- it was the safest option.

And that's the thing, in some ways it's worse that society has reached a point were all innocence is lost, but in other ways it was a bit chilling, it taught me a lesson though.
