This is a question Darwin Awards

Bluffboy says: My mate cheated death and burned his eyebrows off looking down the barrel of a potato gun. Tell us about your brushes with the Grim Reaper through stupidity.

I'm the kind of cyclist you hate
As a rule, I wear black.

I have no reflectors. I have no lights. I have no helmet. I hang off the back of trucks. Sometimes I have a walkman.

I am allergic to some general anaesthetics - they kill me - but I don't wear my medic alert (in fact, I don't know where it is).

I have not long to live.
:)

In my experience, you're probably better off.
I think my bright jacket, flashing lights and helmet are actually signs that say: "All car drivers are cunts".

I can't think why else they insist on trying to kill me to bits, every single day.

Nah
Bus drivers are worse*, I think they resent having to share bus lanes with cyclists.

*Sweeping generalisation

I do hope you're winding us up.
Cos if not you're a total cunt.

Nope.
It's true.

I'm utterly indifferent, and I don't see why anyone else should feel otherwise. Insurance will pay for damage to the car.

err
Being both a cyclist and a driver...

When I'm cycling - clearly all drivers are cunts and are deliberately trying to kill me.

When I'm driving and there's a cyclist with no lights and wearing black - it's more like "Woah, where the fuck did he come from?"

If it's raining - you're practically invisible. Get some lights, and a fluorescent strip.

The point is
as a cyclist you're not insured, so it ends up being my insurance that pays when I hit you, my no claims bonus that disappears and my insurance costing £200 a year more.

Yep, Cvnt
I'm a biker.

If I end up ploughing into a stealth cyclist on the unlit sections of the A1 it won't be just the cyclist who ends up in A&E.

Get some bloody lights or I'll come round and set fire to your nostril hair.

As for "I don't see why anyone else should feel otherwise" You might care little about your own choice of suicide. It's who you'll take down with you that matters.

pah
I once saw a cyclist such as yourself...

... and he was also traveling down a particularly poorly lit street, rather late at night ...

... and he had the skin colour to match.

Ah well
At least you don't cycle drunk.
(, Fri 13 Feb 2009, 19:18, closed)
I don't think helmets help much
reflectors and lights FTW though.
