Exactly.I have similar problems to the OP with seats being too small and ATMs too low and I'm about an inch above average height for a bloke in the UK.
The problem seems to be that things like bus seats are built to specifications dating back to times when war rationing and poor diet meant the average height was about 6 inches shorter than today.
If I recall correctly six foot is about the average height for a male in the Netherlands. I put their gigantism down to the fact they live below sea level so have to keep their heads above water.
